How to Make Your Content Look Great On Facebook

Have you ever posted a link to Facebook and it doesn’t look like you thought it would? The featured image is of some random page element and the description is in Lorem Ipsum. While you may not be able to change the way links appear from other sources, you can change how links from your own website appear in Facebook.

In simple terms, Facebook looks for lines of code in your website called Open Graph Tags. These tags tell Facebook the headline, image, and description to grab from your site when a link is shared. If this code isn’t available, Facebook will try to guess. Sometimes it guesses correctly, but a lot of the time it doesn’t. Don’t take that risk!
